Property Tax Payments Can Now Be Made in Maxima Stores

February 27, 2019

To expand its range of convenient, accessible bill-paying services, retail chain Maxima Latvija has introduced an option of paying property tax at Maxima stores.

As of February, customers have been able to pay not only for utility bills, telecommunications and property management in Maxima stores, but also property tax statements. Property taxes can be paid at the checkout in Maxima stores by submitting a statement with a barcode. Payment can be made via bank card or cash.

“Stores are always changing in form and function, expanding from a place to buy everyday groceries and household goods to become complex service providers. Modern stores now offer everything needed to run a household, in one place and close to home. Maxima store network is the largest in Latvia, making it the most accessible to customers. Our observations have shown that customers are increasingly using stores as an opportunity to pay the bills. Therefore, we have expanded our range of bill payment options in the Maxima chain by enabling the payment of property tax,” explains Jānis Beseris, Maxima Latvija Head of Corporate Affairs.

The property tax payment service is currently available in Maxima stores in 11 Latvian municipalities. From February 1st, property tax payment was introduced in Babīte county, Ludza county, Rēzekne, Bauska county, Ikšķile county, and Salaspils and Jelgava counties. Meanwhile, from February 15th, payment could also be made in Maxima stores in Cēsis county, Ādaži county and the capital city, Riga. Maxima Latvija is currently working intensively to expand bill payment availability elsewhere to ensure that it is available to all Latvian residents in every region.
