New Record Set - Latvia’s Heaviest Pumpkin Weighs 574 kg

Today, October 26th, at the Latvian Pumpkin Championship, a new record was set by a pumpkin from Kuldīga County which reached 574 g, 170 kg more than the previous record set in 2016. The Championship at Riga Zoo was organised by Maxima Latvija for the 13th year in a row, honouring local Latvian vegetable farmers.

A New Maxima Express Store in the Centre of Riga

Today, October 25th, the second Maxima Express store opened in Riga at 30 Kr. Barona Street. The new store, which was created with an investment of 156,000 Euro, features a renewed facade as well as both store and service areas set up according to modern shopping and work environment standards. According to summer sales figures from the newest Maxima stores located in shopping centres demonstrate the stable growth of this sector. Both turnover and number of purchases at the Maxima XXX stores in the Domina Shopping mall and fashion and entertainment centre Rīga Plaza has increased - the total number of purchases in August in both stores grew by 6% compared with July’s results.
